A Message From the President

The Penn State Shenango Alumni Society was established in 1992 to help bring Penn State Alumni closer to the Penn State Shenango campus and students. 

Since our inception, The Penn State Shenango Alumni Society has donated over $105,000 to the Penn State Shenango campus.  Most of our donations have been in the form of student scholarships.  Recently, we have also donated money to the Penn State Shenango Lion Shrine project and other campus renovations.

For those who love to golf, you must participate in our Annual Golf Scramble.  This is our largest fundraiser and includes 36 golf teams and numerous sponsors.  Our next golf scramble will take place on June 14^th, 2008.  If you prefer ice cream, you won’t want to miss our Penn State Creamery half-gallon ice cream sale.  These ice cream sales usually take place sometime in the spring and the fall of each year. Our newest fundraiser is an annual Poker Run which is typically scheduled on a Saturday late in August for all those who enjoy cruising through the local area on their motorcycles. Periodically we also have football raffle ticket fundraisers as well to continue to help supplement our primary goal of the Society which is to generate funds that can be used for Penn State Shenango student scholarships!  

In addition to our fundraisers, our Society participates in an annual volunteer project in the community.  We are in the process of implementing a mentorship program with our Penn State Blue/White Society students to connect current students at the Penn State Shenango campus with alumnus in the business community. 

If you think our Society is all work and no play, you are mistaken.  Our annual social events also include an Alumni recognition dinner, a Freshmen sendoff picnic, a Penn State football TV party, and group trips to various sporting events.
